Most of the butter sold on the market is a very unhealthy product made with pasteurized milk. Butter can be healthy if it`s prepared at home. This butter is organic and very healthy. It contains minerals and vitamins from raw milk like vitamin A which is very important and needed for having healthy eyes, teeth, tissues and skin. The organic butter is consisted of short or medium- chain fatty acids which help the body to protect itself from development of cancer cells.
The recipe for the homemade organic butter
For this recipe you will need only 2 simple ingredients.
- 2 cups of heavy milk, organic
- sea salt
Put the organic heavy milk in a food processor for about 10 minutes to process. At the beginning it will become like whipped cream. Continue until the milk turns grainy. The milk will separate into butter milk and butter. Drain the separated milk from the butter and put the butter in a bowl under cold water. Turn the butter gently with wooden spoon until the water is clear.
Squeeze the rest of the water from the butter with the wooden spoon and put it in a jar and put it in a fridge. Prepared like this it can be used for few months.
For the kids you can prepare delicious unsalted butter by adding these combinations:
- Chopped garlic, pickled ginger and Thai basil
- Grated ginger and Sesame oil
- Feta cheese and Kalamata olives
- Parsley and lemon zest
- Orange zest, blueberries and maple syrup
- Parmesan cheese and fresh basil
- Pecans and honey
- Orange zest, cranberries and fresh sage
- Ground black pepper and sea salt
