Recipe for Turmeric beverage

You can make the turmeric tonic in still or carbonated water. It includes healthy ingredients like ginger, turmeric and chia seeds.

  • Turmeric

Turmeric has antibiotic, antiviral and anti – inflammatory properties. The turmeric remedy is highly beneficial for allergies, skin problems, purification of the blood and for digestive problems.

  • Ginger

Ginger root has powerful anti – inflammatory properties and it`s used for reducing inflammations. This root is great for detoxifying the body because it eliminates the accumulated toxins from the system. The consumption of ginger stimulates the metabolism and the digestion.

  • Chia seeds

Chia seeds contain high amounts of omega 3 and omega 6 fats and proteins. The fatty acids hydrate the cilia of the digestive tract. Also it increases the ability of the body to absorb bigger amounts of nutrients from the food.

Recipe for Turmeric tonic

Ingredients:

  • ½ a cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric freshly grated. If you can`t find fresh turmeric, use ½ a teaspoon of turmeric powder whish is easier to find in every grocery store.
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of ginger freshly grated
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper freshly grounded
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup or organic honey
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  • juice of ½ a lime
  • club soda or seltzer water

Preparation:

Pour the water in a glass and add the turmeric, lime juice, black pepper and ginger. Mix the ingredients well and leave the mixture to rest for couple of minutes. Strain the ginger and the turmeric with sieve. Add the chia seeds in the mixture and leave them to swell for several minutes. Add the maple syrup or the honey and the club soda or seltzer water.

Don’t use ice or cold water because it will reverse the benefits of the ingredients making them counter-productive.
